Thoughts on “The Infinite and The Devine” By Robert Rath

175 words or less, thoughts and feelings that I had after reading the book

I don’t think I have the knowledge of the lore to enjoy this book. This is a book that does not hold your hand to introduce you to the 40k universe. I’ve always heard the old age adage of don’t treat your audience as idiots. If there’s context clues, readers will understand the things you put into the world. This book makes me go “I mean, we can sometimes right? like once or twice please?”

What made the book so damn challenging was while the book’s writing’s is descriptive that a well verse lore fan would appreciate. To me, it just created a blur of words that caused me to glaze over paragraphs at times. Unaware of the significance of the beings it introduces. Even after when I return to focus and rereading passages, it was still a blur. There were parts of the first half, were I almost gave up on the book. It was a fun finale that I wish I could appreciate more
